What have I been up to? Part Two by Seven Hills Photography, Cincinnati Photographer

In case you missed yesterday’s post. Here is part one. Also, I completely updated and revamped my website! If you haven’t checked it out yet, you definitely should! Give me some feedback too! I would love to hear your opinion!

I left us off at the beginning of 2012. I did a fierce boudoir session, but for privacy reasons, I can’t post the pictures :P

I had donated a photo shoot to the League for Animal Welfare to auction off at their Wine and Whiskers fundraiser. (I love helping out a good cause. If you know of a benefit or fundraiser, let me know!) This shoot was a lot of fun!

It’s always a challenge to get multiple animals in a picture. But these pups were great!

In February, Cooper and Sylas turned 3 months!

I’ll give you a dollar if you can tell them apart! (Karla and Kevin… you can’t play!) I love being able to document these boys as they grow up!

In March, I did a maternity session for Lindsay and Bob… and their son, Robbie.

Oh funny story about this pic! Lindsay was coming straight from work to this shoot, so she had Bob bring all the clothes and props. She asked him to bring a pregnancy book, preferably “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” for this pic. We started shooting this pose when we noticed he accidentally brought, “What to Eat When You’re Expecting.” haha

Lindsay, you look amazing. I cannot wait to meet Robbie!

April has been a busy month for me. I got to photograph Paul Matthew less than a hour after he came into the world.

How cute is he? Seriously. Paulina, you were amazing and I’m so grateful that I was allowed to be there to capture his first moments. I love photographing babies in the hospital. The emotion there is always so loving and happy. I look forward to photographing Paul again!

Two days later, I celebrated my 3 year wedding anniversary! Every year my husband, Aaron, and I do an anniversary picture. Here is all four.

We were such babies! haha I think it is super sweet to document our years together. But this year was extra special. We did one more picture…

to announce my pregnancy! My little Nugget will be here in November! We couldn’t be happier!

I think that brings us up to speed! I’m working on a few personal art projects that I’m not quite ready to share yet. My goal is to have an art show by the end of the year. Hopefully that won’t be too much to take on with a baby on the way :D You can’t say I’m not ambitious!

What have I been up to? Part One by Seven Hills Photography, Cincinnati Photographer

Was October really the last time I updated this blog? Shame on me! I have been up to a lot and doing a lot of photo shoots and if you make it through this entry, I will be impressed!

I’ll start where I left off, October…. I turned my dog into a dinosaur. No, really.

Image

Chewie loved the attention he got. It was a lot of work; I had to grow him out for months. I’d say it was totally worth it though!

The Hubert family had a two-part photo session. Part one was at the pumpkin festival.

Seriously. Those cheeks! I want to pinch them!

Part two of the session was done outside of the Taft Museum in downtown Cincinnati

Towards the end of October, I did Rachel’s senior pictures! This shoot was a lot of fun! Rachel is a natural in front of the camera and isn’t afraid to be silly!

Moving on to November!

On November 16th, Cooper and Sylas were born! Karla and Kevin are the parents of these awesome twin boys. You may remember them, I shot their engagement and wedding pictures in 2010. Poor Sy had to be in the NICU for the first few days, but I was lucky enough to be able to come see him and take a few pics there.

Here’s Cooper

December rolled around and I took some Christmas pictures of some super cute puppies!

Reindeer Rubie!

I cannot tell you how long it took to get this shot!

Yes, the little one, Kitty, is tie-dye. Don’t worry. It’s just kool-aid.

and Maverick!

I got to photograph Cooper and Sylas in their awesome Christmas costumes! How stinkin cute are they!?!?!

I think that makes us all caught up on 2011. I’ll do a post in a bit on what has happened in 2012 so far!

Olivia! by Seven Hills Photography, Cincinnati Photographer

This face totally cracks me up! It’s the “who me?” look.

What pretty girls! Like mother, like daughter, right?

I was so excited to do Olivia’s 9 month pics, but Mother Nature had other plans. It rained, and rained, and rained. We had to cut our session short and postpone it for another day. Even on the rescheduled day, we shot between showers! Oh well! I’m super happy with how the images turned out. Olivia is beyond adorable! I have this terrible habit of looking through my sessions on my camera on my way home… only at red lights though! (Safety first!) And while I was going through Olivia’s images, I just couldn’t get over how stinkin’ cute she is! As soon as I got home, I had to show my husband. haha! I had so much fun capturing Olivia at this exciting milestone!

Meet Max! by Seven Hills Photography, Cincinnati Photographer

Meet Max! He just turned one in August. What a cutie-pie!

Max is a man of many interests.

He enjoys playing Halo on the xBox.

Max is well read. The Eency Weency Spider is a classic.

He is figuring out this whole “walking” thing.

He enjoys flying through the air…

and hanging upside down.

Max is such a funny boy! He had everyone cracking up.

It was supposed to rain the whole day of this shoot. We were fortunate enough for it to hold out a few hours for us. We even had some sunshine! :D I had so much fun on this shoot. Seriously, I was laughing so hard I was crying. Max is a character and so expressive! I had such a hard time picking out my favorites to blog. I feel like the ones I picked showcased his personality pretty well. Brandon and Becky, thanks for letting me capture Max’s first birthday!

See you later!

Yeti the Hedgehog by Seven Hills Photography, Cincinnati Photographer

When I got the email from Cortney about photographing her pet hedgehog, Yeti, I was so excited. I’ll take any excuse to play with super cute animals! Here are some of my favorite shots from the session.

Yeti was a great subject to photograph. For a nocturnal animal, he had a lot more energy than I thought he would. It definitely took some creative staging. Yeti loves little his wicker house, so we used that to our advantage! When his house was near him, he would scamper inside and almost immediately curl up and fall asleep. Poor guy just wanted to get back to sleep! haha.

New Aquarium by Seven Hills Photography, Cincinnati Photographer

Hey guys! How are you doing? I’m keeping busy… just the way I like it! I think I would be miserable if I had nothing to do. Last week, I did a rockin pet portrait of Yeti, a Hedgie that is absolutely adorable! That blog post is coming soon, don’t you worry.

That shoot inspired me to photograph the newest additions to my household. I recently bought a 20 gallon aquarium and I am IN LOVE. There are four residents of the tank.

First is Lord Tubbington, a ryukin. He’s kind of a turd. He’s always hiding and very skittish.

Next is Lady Tubbington, a fantail.

Then there my black moor, Jon Snow. He’s name as such because he’s taken the vow of the black. (Game of Thrones reference)

And I know I shouldn’t have favorites, buuuut meet Tyrion the Imp. He’s a LIONhead. (another Game of Thrones reference… Sorry lol)

He’s so curious. Whenever I approach the aquarium, he’s right there to greet me! Love him.

So here’s my full set up. I’m sure I’ll get some more fun tchotchkes for in there and I’ll rearrange some things.

That’s just my inside fish! I have a 1500 gallon koi pond in my backyard with 4 koi and 2 comets (Their names are Jack, Sally, Henry David Thoreau, BlackFin, Sashimi, and Maki). I’m going to try to get some good pictures of them soon.

Well, I’ve got to feed the fishies now. Be sure to come back in a couple days to check out Yeti’s pictures! You’ll be glad you did; he’s too cute!

Washington Photo Adventure by Seven Hills Photography, Cincinnati Photographer

It is so hot and muggy here. It’s 2am and I cannot sleep because my bedroom is unbearably hot! I’m not sure how much longer I can stand these uber humid, 90° days. Just a few weeks ago, I was in lovely 60° weather. I wore jeans and a hoodie everyday. I was in my happy place, the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. LOVE!

My first experience with Washington was on my honeymoon in 2009. I convinced my husband that we needed to see the Olympic National Park. :P We both fell immediately in love with the area (and that’s saying  a lot; my husband is a tropical beach kind of guy!). Two years later, we talked my in-laws into making our annual family vacation a trip to Washington! We rented a house just outside of Port Angeles, WA. It was located right on the Straight of Jaun de Fuca. We spent the week visiting wineries and lavender farms, white water rafting on the Elwah River, and hiking Hurricane Ridge, Rialto Beach, and the Hoh rainforest. We hung out in a bunch of cool towns like, Victoria BC, Port Townsend, Sequim, Port Angeles, and Seattle. ( Whew! I think that’s everything!)

Here are some of my favorite shots from the trip!

What a way to end the day.

We picked up the hobby of making zen rock statues. The rocks on the beach are perfect for it.

Purple Haze Lavender Farm in Sequim, WA

Hoh Rainforest!

Hoh again. I love those ferns!

Rialto Beach, LaPush, WA

Seriously.

I was feeling crazy inspired so I did a few self portraits! Check out the size of that driftwood!

with the husband

without.

This poor guy washed up on our beach one morning. When Aaron and I found him, he was still breathing, so we tried to do a daring shark rescue. But it was too late. :( He was too far gone to return to the sea.

Hurricane Ridge. Very “Sound of Music”, no?

Looking at these pictures makes me feel homesick. I can’t wait to go back. I swear, if I ever win the lottery, the first thing I’ll do is buy property in the Olympic Peninsula!
